Andaman Islands itinerary for 6 days

A 6-day Andaman Islands trip plan in which each day stays in one part of Andaman Islands, in route order: Port Blair; Ross Island, North Bay and Chidiya Tapu; Baratang caves; Havelock and Radhanagar Beach; Elephant Beach and diving; and Neil Island.

Almost every Andaman itinerary runs Port Blair, Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) and Neil (Shaheed Dweep), joined by ferries that must be booked in advance. Ferry timings, not distances, dictate the plan — a missed sailing costs you a day.

  • Corbyn’s Cove Beach
  • Samudrika Naval Marine Museum
  • Cellular Jail

Day 2: Ross Island, North Bay and Chidiya Tapu

  • North Bay Island snorkelling
  • Chidiya Tapu at sunset

  • Mangrove creek boat ride
  • Baratang limestone caves
  • Mud volcano

Day 4: Havelock and Radhanagar Beach

Check out and move to Havelock today. Take the morning ferry to Havelock and keep the rest of the day for Radhanagar, which faces west for sunset.

  • Morning ferry to Havelock
  • Kalapathar Beach
  • Radhanagar Beach at sunset

Day 5: Elephant Beach and diving

Havelock’s water day. Elephant Beach boats leave in the morning; a first scuba dive needs no certificate.

  • Elephant Beach snorkelling
  • Scuba diving at a Havelock dive site
  • Seafood dinner in Havelock

Day 6: Neil Island

Check out and move to Neil today. A short ferry from Havelock to the smallest and calmest of the three. Low tide is the time for the natural rock bridge. Keep the end of the day free so the journey home is not rushed.

  • Sitapur Beach at sunrise
  • Natural rock bridge at low tide
  • Bharatpur Beach

Where to stay

Stay in Port Blair on arrival, then Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) for two or three nights and Neil (Shaheed Dweep) for one. Book the inter-island ferries as soon as your flights are fixed.

When to go

October to May has calm seas and good underwater visibility, with the best diving conditions from December to April. The monsoon between June and September brings rough crossings and frequent ferry cancellations.
